Legalize Marijuana/Hash/Cannabis Camden NJ Is a minority city of 85,000 located in Southern New Jersey directly across the historic Delaware River from Center City Philadelphia. Camden at onetime was a viable productive manufacturing city, but a combination of government policies and white flight have reduced Camden City to a minority Ghetto. During the 70's Government policies like welfare and the "War on Drugs" turned Camden, and many cities into "War-Zones". Private business were encouraged to leave through Government programs like (OPIC) which sent business's overseas, nation-wide. Suburban communities competed with inter cities for revenue producing business's and also drew business's and jobs out of the city. Property owner's where forced to reduce rents and sale prices, tax revenue shriveled. Large business's like Campbell soup, RCA and the Port of Camden moved away along with job's. During the 80's the Republican lead US government instituted disastrous policies such as stepping up the so-called "war on drugs", and creating propaganda mis-information campaign's such as "Just say No", and DARE. These policies helped created vast criminal networks and drug distribution organizations which fought over turf, and settled disputes with violence nationwide because they couldn't turn to the legal court system. These disputes and open - air drug markets created by the government then drove many middle class minorities out to the suburbs. Cities like Camden were hit hard by these ASININE policies. Camden's revenue base and stable population also evaporated, off to the burbs ! Away from the violence associated with these illegal drug organizations, these organizations are the direct result of the governments failed drug policies. The violence is not drug induced it's profit, and greed inspired. Just as the alcohol prohibition created huge problems in white communities during the alcohol prohibition - the current prohibition (War on Drugs) has created the same problems in minority communities, while the white community and population profit of this government created misery. Camden's revenue base and much of it's stable middle class minority productive population also evaporated, off to the burbs ! As much fleeing the drug organizations as they were fleeing the police, and police tactics and policies. By the 90's Camden became a vitural police
state, as many inter-cities are. Minority males were/are encouraged to
remain in the city by practices such as highway Racial profiling. Many
Camden City minority males fear venturing out of the city during daylight
hours for fear of being accosted by state and suburban police who are always
on the look-out for them. They watch for all Urban Minorities, ask Col.
Carl Williams.
While minority women are given jobs and training while males are incarcerated and ruined by our drug policies. Creating a family problem, fatherless homes. Or homes with welfare mothers as the head. (Welfare doesn't help families with men around) Which then creates a catch 22 for the males. They are ruined by the drug policies, are unacceptable as employee's in (the white world) mainstream employment circle's. Can't find a decent job, are discouraged from marrying again by welfare rules. - Our women are then given jobs while we aren't. Yet, we can make a decent wage as employee's of drug organization's or earn hugh profits with independent distribution. Eventually independent distributors are set upon by the larger organizations. Self defense is required you can't tell the police your drug business is being overtaken by a larger drug business. Violence results. Where am I going with all this. Make
Camden A legalization zone! The most
commonly used illegal substance is marijuana. Legalize it! Do you think
one-day you will wake -up an see headlines across the country saying the
"war has been won" - not by the government! At some point this country
is going to wake-up to the harm and destruction it's policies have done
to "we the People", and they will be ended. The "War" can only be won by
"We the people". Cities like Camden NJ should get a head-start. We can
become a international city.
International Cities like
Amsterdam, and Kingston Jamaica attract millions of tourist each year who
are seeking legal products of marijuana, hash, and cannabis. Camden
could create a hash house zone, similar to Atlantic City's Casino zone.
Here in New Jersey we have a little experience with such zones 30 years
ago gambling was considered a scourge now 15+ huge casino's bring in huge
profits to the state with little crime associated with it. Camden which
is located at the opposite end of the Atlantic City Expressway could open
huge jazz center's or theater like music center's with operating hash house's
located in each. Smaller venture's would be encouraged to open along designated
routes leading up to the large place's. Such as Mickle Blvd., Haddon Ave.,
and Admiral Wilson Blvd.
Camden already has the Sony Entertainment Center
(Sony E Center), this facility could reap huge profits booking international
Jazz and Reggae concerts. These concerts would compete with Las Vegas,
compliment Atlantic City and bring huge revenue into Camden's sparse tax
coffer's not to mention the over-all attractiveness of the Philadelphia
Camden waterfront.
Imagine if the Battleship New Jersey, the State Aquarium, and the Sony E center also had Amsterdam like hash house's and music theater's. And couple of national hotel chains. Camden City would suddenly be a international tourist attraction like Amsterdam, Monaco, Frankfurt, Atlantic City. Of course with all this you'd also have to legalize Prostitution. The city then should also request of all new business's to have a residency policy to employ city dwellers. The employer's would be asked to work with the city in placing residents with drug arrest records in good paying jobs. Street sales would virtually disappear. The drug dealers of today work go away like the number's men went with the advent of state lotteries and legalized gambling. People are going to use marijuana no-matter
what the government does. Marijuana is as wanted a commodity as alcohol
or tobacco but much safer and all natural. The problem is Caucasians don't
control it. So they demonize it and have kept it illegal for 62 years.
