Immediately after the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the U.S.A. members of the Bush administration began the drum beat
of “war” against Iraq. ( Click ) Donald Rumsfield, Wolf and John Ashcrof
began creating a case for war against the Islamic world using the events of
9/11 to squelch civil liberties in America and terrorize Americans into believing there was a
Muslim terrorist behind every building.

Like the McCarthy era of the 1950s, or the Red
and Anarchist Scares of the 1920s. This is one of the worst attacks on the
fundamental rights and protections of Americans in our history. Our
choice is rapidly boiling down to: Live in fear, live in silence, or live
in a prison cell. The
30 year “war on drugs” and the new “war on terrorism” have been shredding
the Bill of Rights.

When in fact if (?)
9-11 was carried out by the individuals publicly named by our government
(I’m not sure), then these were our allies and former CIA assets. I personnally think 911 was carried out by covert members
of our own government and rogue CIA agents and assets.Osama Bin Laden I believe is still a CIA asset!.
We invaded Afghanistan and replaced the TALIBAN government
with our own stooge gov’t supposedly for not
turning over Osama Bin Laden to us. ( TRUTH OF AFGHANISTAN )
Saudi Arabia is publicly
our ally yet 15 of the 19 accused terrorists on 911 were Saudi citizens and
the leader Osama Bin Laden was once (and still maybe) a valuable CIA asset.
His organization Al-Qaida was formed to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan during the 1980’s with our governments help and
blessings. Osama and others like him were created by our CIA to fight the
Soviets and to wage “war” against the Soviet installed regime.
The whole thing
reminds me of the REICHTAG incident. Before World War 2 the German
Government used the burning of the Reichstag to gain unprecedented power
and use this power to terrorize its own citizens into believing every
problem they had was the fault of the Jews or communist.

On February
27, 1933 The German Parliament (Reichstag) burns down. A
dazed Dutch Communist named Marinus van der Lubbe is found at the
scene and charged with arson. [He is later found guilty and executed].
Historians do not agree on who is actually responsible
for the Reichstag Fire: van der Lubbe acting alone -- a Communist plot -- or the
Nazis themselves in order to create an incident. Most historians feel
that the Nazis were involved.
But regardless of who actually planned and executed
the fire, it is clear that the Nazis immediately took advantage of the
situation in order to advance their cause at the expense of civil rights.
President Hindenburg and Chancellor Hitler
invoke Article 48 of the Weimar Constitution, which permits the
suspension of civil liberties in time of national emergency. This Decree
of the Reich President for the Protection of the People and State abrogates
the following constitutional protections:
- Free expression of
opinion
- Freedom of the
press
- Right of assembly
and association
- Right to privacy
of postal and electronic communications
- Protection against
unlawful searches and seizures
- Individual
property rights
- States' right of
self-government
The Decree enabled the Nazis to ruthlessly suppress opposition
in the upcoming election. A supplemental decree creates the SA (Storm
Troops) and SS (Special Security) Federal police agencies.

This is not the first time our government
has used lies and deceptive means to encourage our citizens to launch a
“war” that only a few would actually benefit from. In 1898 our Government
sent the U.S. battleship – USS MAINE to Cuba. At the time the US had intentions on the Spanish possessions of CUBA and The Philippines. The USS MAINE was ordered to
HAVANNA bay to "protect American interests."

America
faked a cause for war. “HAVANNA BAY INCIDENT”
Although the Maine was only a second-class battleship, it was the largest
ship ever to enter Havana harbor.
“To the Cubans, it was a
floating American fortress right in their capital city and
they made a point to complain about it”.
On Feb. 15th,
1898 the U.S.S. MAINE suffered
a tremendous explosion in her mid-section and sank with the loss of over
250 American sailors. No-one knew for sure what had happened.

Yet,
powerful politicians with “Sugar interests” and the American press,
however, had no doubts about who was responsible for sinking the Maine. It
was the cowardly Spanish, they cried. William Randolph Hearst's New York Journal even published pictures. They
showed how Spanish saboteurs had fastened an underwater mine to the Maine and had detonated it from shore.

As
one of the few sources of public information, newspapers had reached
unprecedented influence and importance. Journalistic giants, such as
Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer of the World, viciously competed for
the reader's attention. They were determined to reach a daily
circulation of a million people, and they didn't mind fabricating
stories in order to reach their goal.

Hundreds of editorials demanded
that the Maine and
American honor be avenged. Many Americans agreed. Soon a rallying cry
could be heard everywhere -- in the papers, on the streets, and in the
halls of Congress: "Remember the Maine!
To hell with Spain."
On April
25, 1898 the United States
declared war on Spain
using the sinking of the Battleship Maine in Havana
harbor on February 15, 1898
as the cattleist for “WAR”. The war ended with
the signing of the Treaty of Paris
on December 10, 1898.
As a result Spain
lost its control over the remains of its overseas empire -- Cuba,
Puerto Rico, the Philippine islands, Guam,
and other islands.

It wasn’t until
several years after the “war” that the USS MAINE was examined and it was
revealed that the explosion that sank it came from the inside. It was
either a terrible accident or it had been destroyed from within by
Americans themselves. Many believe that the USS Maine was sent to CUBA to be destroyed; to start the Spanish American War in
order for powerful American interests to seize Spanish possessions.
"A 1975 investigation led by Admiral Rickover determined that the Maine's hull was breached by an explosion originating INSIDE the ship. This could have been a spontaneous "coal-bin explosion," or it could have been a bomb placed by an imperialist traitor".

America again fake
a cause for war. “GULF OF TONKIN
INCIDENT”
On Aug. 4,
1964, President Johnson "went to the American people via a
nationally televised speech with somber facts." – President Johnson
said, “that North Vietnamese torpedo boats launched an "unprovoked
attack" against a U.S. destroyer on "routine patrol" in
the Tonkin Gulf on Aug. 2 -- and that North Vietnamese PT boats followed
up that attack with a "deliberate attack" on a pair of U.S.
ships just hours before”.
In the absence of
any independent investigation, the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution -- the closest thing there ever was to a
declaration of war against North Vietnam -- sailed through Congress on Aug. 7. (Two
courageous senators, Wayne Morse of Oregon and Ernest Gruening
of Alaska, provided the only "no" votes.) The
resolution authorized the president "to take all necessary measures
to repel any armed attack against the forces of the United States and to prevent further aggression." The
rest is tragic history. Over 1 million Vietnamese were killed along with
50 American troops.
The truth of the GULF of TONKIN
incident was very different.
Rather than being on a routine
patrol Aug. 2, the U.S. destroyer Maddox was actually engaged in
aggressive intelligence-gathering maneuvers -- in sync with coordinated
attacks on North
Vietnam
by the South Vietnamese navy and the Laotian air force.
"The day
before, two attacks on North Vietnam...had taken place, this part of a campaign of
increasing military pressure on the North that the United States had been pursuing since early 1964."
On the night of
Aug. 4, the Pentagon proclaimed that a second attack by North Vietnamese
PT boats had occurred earlier that day in the Tonkin Gulf -- a report cited by President Johnson as he
went on national TV that evening to announce a momentous escalation in
the war: air strikes against North Vietnam.
Johnson ordered U.S. bombers to "retaliate" for a North
Vietnamese torpedo attack that never happened. The Los Angeles Times
urged Americans to "face the fact that the Communists, by their
attack on American vessels in international waters, that they themselves
have escalated the hostilities."
Prior to the U.S. air strikes, top officials in Washington had reason to doubt that any Aug. 4 attack by North Vietnam had occurred. Cables from the U.S. task force
commander in the Tonkin Gulf, Captain John J. Herrick, referred to
"freak weather effects," "almost total darkness" and
an "overeager sonar-man" who "was hearing the ship's own
propeller beat."
One of the Navy
pilots flying overhead that night was squadron commander James Stockdale,
who gained fame later as a POW and then Ross Perot's vice presidential
candidate. "I had the best seat in the house to watch that
event," recalled Stockdale a few years ago, "and our destroyers
were just shooting at phantom targets -- there were no PT boats there....
There was nothing there but black water and American fire power."
Yet, the Gulf
of Tonkin incident launched
this country into the Vietnam War and it was a lie.

"We Americans are the ultimate
innocents. We are forever desperate to believe that this time the
government is telling us the truth." – Unfortunately as with the USS
MAINE, and the Gulf of Tonkin
this “Weapons of Mass Destruction” pretext for “WAR” is a lie! ( I personally put the 9-11 incident into this category
as well. )
What this WMD claim actually is a lie to
justify our Fundamentalist Christian Governments “CRUSADE” into IRAQ
to steal oil and convert.

President George “w”
Bush is a self proclaimed born-again Christian, but what he fails to say is
that he is a
fundamentalist. He and his far-right supporters recognize
“GOD”, not the Constitution, as their commander, which explains their
insistent intrusion of religion upon the state. Bush calls it his
“faith-based iniatives,” I call it a violation of
the principle of church/state separation. Some (John Ashcrof)
find their answers in the BIBLE, insisting on reading it literally as they
attack civil liberties and medical marijuana organizations.
I recently read about
Gen. Smedley Butler who served in the U.S.
Marines during World War 1. “War is a racket,” he said in a 1933 speech.
“It always has been … A racket is best described, I believe as something
that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small
“inside group” knows what it is all about. “It is conducted for the benefit
of the very few, at the expense of the very many”. The few in our current
Government are the “Fundamentalist”, these fundamentalist are marching the USA into a WORLD WAR with ISLAM.
These fundamentalist
have publicly put three reasons forth to go to war with Iraq.
(1)
– To prevent the
spread of WMD.
(2)
– To protect America from terrorism – “pre-emptively”
(3)
– To liberate Iraq and bring about democracy.
Let’s look at each of
these so-called reasons separately.
(1) – To
prevent the spread of WMD. Is the stated number one reason. Iraq claims after the Persian Gulf war in accordance with UN
mandates they destroyed their WMD although they didn’t keep accurate
records. In the last 12 years no-one has ever found any WMD other than the
ones destroyed immediatedly after the war, in the
first few years of UN weapon inspections many were destroyed. Iraq claimed all had been destroyed and wanted the UN to lift
the sanctions and end the inspections. At the behest of the US the UN refused; which forced Iraq in 1998 to boot the inspectors out of their country and
begin to openly defy the UN sanctions and US embargos.
(2) – To
protect America from
terrorism. George Bush claims that Iraq had connections with Al-Qaida, a claim no-one with any
knowledge of the workings of the mid-east would believe. This is the most
apparent lie/fabrication. Saddam Hussein is a secularist while Osama Bin
Laden is a fundamentalist Islamist from the Wahabbi
sect. That’s like saying George Bush and Al Sharpton
are comparable. Bush tried to equate Iraq with pre-world war 2 Germany, which is laughable for those with knowledge. German was
one of the most powerful countries on Earth. Having all the modern weapons
and millions of well trained troops. Iraq’s army is equipped with Soviet junk and ill trained.
These claims are just flat-out lies.
(3) – To bring Democracy
to Iraq. This is a absolute lie, in
no-way would this government want to bring democracy to Iraq. To do so would be to install a Shiite government in Iraq with strong ties to IRAN. – Iraq is over 60% Shiite and 20 percent Sunni with the
other 20 percent made up of Kurds and various other minorities such as
Christians and Jews. In all likelihood if a true democracy was brought to Iraq it would result in a Shiite government. Recently when informed that Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir-Hakim
had returned to Iraq and plan on forming a Islamic regime Donald Rumsfeild said, “It isn’t going to happen!” Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir-Hakim
is the leader of largest Shiite group in IRAQ in a speech upon his arrival
from Iran where he’s been in exile he envisioned a Islamic State, saying,
“It will be a modern Islamic regime to go along with the modern world… and
it will also bring Iraq to its natural place in the ARAB world and the
Islamic world”. This brought shudders from the fundamentalist in the
American government who envision another Ayatollah Khomeini
style IRAN.
Maybe “WAR” will always be a racket,
but our best chance at preventing the next war is to unearth the truth
about this one. The public is entitled to know the truth about what its
government is doing. Only those Americans who speak out, execising our RIGHT to FREE SPEECH, risking our freedom
or jobs and our physical well-being, ignoring thr
threats and abuses of law, offer any hope of resurrecting a fair open and
constitutional government for our country.
