NJWEEDMAN wins California Case, continues to fight New Jersey case

ROBERT EDWARD FORCHION – aka – THE NJWeedman.
In 2008 NJweedman re-located from
New Jersey to Los Angeles and opened a Rastafarian themed Medical Marijuana
collective/dispensary he named the Liberty Bell Temple. By early
2010 NJweedman’s story was being billed as a success
story coming from the Camden County NJ Jail to Hollywood blvd., California was
impressive to many in the marijuana culture. On Jan 18th of 2010
NJweedman published his book titled “NJweedman Public Enemy #420”,
on the same day in Trenton New Jersey Gov Corzine signed the New
Jersey Medical Marijuana Compassionate Use Act into law. NJweedman felt
vindicated after the long fought years of activism in New Jersey that the State
was
finally
accepting that marijuana was good for medicine. He felt the law didn’t go far
enough but was a huge step in the right direction.
On July
14th, 2010 the LAPD raided NJWeedman’s Liberty Bell Temple
located at 5642 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood California. The news at the time was
stunning to both his followers in New Jersey and the local cannabis consuming
community of Los Angeles! NJWeedman, his girlfriend/manager Charquant Leyou of
the Temple where criminally charged along with the corporation “Liberty Bell
Temple INC.” of operating a dispensary after they city had ordered hundreds of
collectives to close by June 7th,2010. Ironically just 9 months
before the LAPD gave NJWeedman back a fully operating grow operation that a
greedy landlord had tried to seize illegally from him. (See

To NJWeedman who had also been arrested in New Jersey on April fools day 2010 this second arrest in 4 months was just un-believeable. The press ran stories about it and activists around the country thought weedman was doomed on two coasts.
Forchion didn’t think so. NJWeedman vowed to beat both case’s. He said he’d beat the Jersey case by demanding a Jury Trial and utilizing Jury Nullification to beat those charges. In the LA case not only did he re-open The Liberty Bell Temple the very next day but he filed a multi-million dollar civil lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles hired the Marijuana Lawyer David Welch to fight the criminal charges the city levied against him. Quietly NJWeedman and his lawyer David Welch who also represents 40 other dispensaries in Los Angeles raked up victories in California State Court. David got the charges against Charquant dropped, obtained a Court Injunction against anymore city police action and received a court ruling that the City of Los Angeles had used a unconstitutional city ordinance to justify the July 14th raid.
On Nov 16th, 2011 The City of Los Angeles dropped all charges against NJweedman and the Liberty Bell Temple. NJWeedman says his New Jersey case has gained a lot of national media attention and he is now scheduled for Trial on April 10th, 2012. WEEDMAN says confidently that I’ll beat the NJ State Charges and be able to oneday enjoy a future cash settlement or civil lawsuit victory in Los Angeles. I will not be in a New Jersey prison.
